As if

As if…

I am a fervent watcher of the politics of today. From the time I get up in the morning throughout the day and right before I go to bed, I check several sources to see what in the world is going on. Just the other day, while looking at Dick Cheney and Newt Gingrich on Fox (I refuse to call it news!), the words came to me.. ”As if”.

It is as if we didn’t experience the last eight years of unnecessary war, profligate spending, obscene bonuses and the inevitable crash.

It is as if, Dick Cheney didn’t directly lie to us about the relationship between Iraq and 9/11. (He did again and again!)

It is as if we didn’t get attacked on 9/11/01 after being warned of the impending attack (Which was during the Bush Cheney years)

It is as if George W Bush didn’t bail out banks and give car companies money. (He did and he did).

It’s as if Dick Cheney hadn’t directly admitted that he could care less if the Constitution was violated (He did!)

Its as if Newt Gingrich wasn’t forced to resign in disgrace from his position in Congress (He was)

It is as if we haven’t had Republican presidents in 28 of the last 40 years (We have!)

It is as if during the time that we had Republicans in charge, they did nothing to fix health care (Even though they say they want reform-they haven’t)

It is as if Rush Limbaugh didn’t get addicted to drugs and used an illegal alien to procure his drugs (But he did! And he got only a slap on the wrist!)

It is as if Sarah Palin wasn’t nominated to be Vice President (Seriously? Really?)

It is as if Glen Beck, a drug addicted-loser with an extremely questionable past is able to call the President of the United States a racist with very little repercussion (He did! He is still on the air!)

It is as if a man from Australia (Australia!) owns most of the new media and is shaping what Americans think and say (But he is!)

It is as if we have all lost our danged minds! WTF?!!!!
